Valentine Primary School is an expanding 4 form entry school. We are based on the east side of the City and passionate about the care and education of 740 children from a socially diverse community.

Our staff work as a team to teach through an exciting curriculum, utilising our amazing school grounds, to excite and motivate children.  We are a highly inclusive school that works in partnership with parents and other schools.  We have a team of staff who support each other on our journey to make Team Valentine; outstanding!


We are seeking to recruit an experienced Learning Support Assistant who is an enthusiastic professional to work with children who have special needs.  Experience of working with children who have a diagnosis of autism would be an advantage.  The children that the successful candidate will work with, will have an EHCP.
NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification is desirable.  You must have a good standard of literacy and numeracy.  Experience of using Makaton would also be an advantage.

We currently have two vacancies for Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants.  Valentine Primary School is based in Southampton with amazing outside grounds and resources to entertain and develop the children through play at lunchtimes.  Our Lunchtime Supervisors work as a team to ensure the schools safe and nurturing environment
continues throughout the lunch period.  They organise games and activities for those that need it as well as allowing room for free play for those with a bit more imagination.

Valentine Primary School is a 4 form entry primary school.  We are based on the east side of the city and passionate about the care and education of 740 children from a socially diverse community.

 

Being a large school means that teachers work together to share workload, planning and resources. We are lucky enough to have amazing grounds and a large part of our school is being rebuilt.  We are proud of our inclusive ethos.  We are often the school of choice for children with additional needs in the east of the city.  We work together to support each other and meet the needs of our children.

 

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, qualified SENCo (or in the process of being qualified) to lead our Woodland Provision which comprises of children with EHCPs.  The role will involve managing and leading a group of skilled Learning Support Assistants who work hard to meet the needs of our diverse group of children with EHCPs.  It will also involve running annual reviews and applying for new EHCPs.  An important part of this role is working with teachers, parents and support staff to ensure that this group of children make progress in line with their plans. There will also be opportunities to work with outside agencies. Knowledge of Team Teach would be an advantage.
